Sleep

It's 3 am, and you've woken up again!! Or maybe you haven't slept at all?

The more you try to sleep... the more you know you must sleep, and the more elusive it becomes

"It's like I've forgotten how to sleep"

"I just can't switch off"

"I'm exhausted but as soon as I get into bed I'm wide awake" are all common complaints I hear.

Negative Impact

Not enough or poor quality sleep has many negative consequences, it may shorten life span, inhibit concentration, make us more prone to anger and irritability and less able to deal with stressful situations, it makes us more prone to accidents as well as lower our immune response, and as if all that isn't bad enough poor nights sleep can cause us to eat up to a third more the next day!

Too many nights looking at the clock in those lonely small hours can condition us to respond to bedtime with anxiety and irritation rather than relaxation, in time turn these emotions act as stimulants further exacerbating our ability to sleep, emotional stimulants are as powerful as coffee!

Greek God of Sleep

Hypnosis is the Greek god of sleep. Hypnosis was believed to be the personification of sleep itself. His name was the origin of the word hypnosis.

It seems the ancient Greeks were on to something because modern researchers have found hypnosis to be an effective intervention for getting to sleep more quickly and staying asleep.

Sleep is an unconscious process, the more you force it the more elusive it becomes, hypnosis is an ideal way of retraining the mind and body to achieve the necessary state for sleep to happen naturally and easily. Hypnosis can help you recapture something you could do automatically from the day you were born...sleep deeply and easily.
